Mash em’ up! These homemade mashed potatoes are a staple side dish on my family’s Thanksgiving table. Simple, creamy, buttery — a delicious (devoured) dish. Great on their own or a perfect side for dinner : )
This is one of my son’s absolute favorites & most requested. He swears they’re the best (sweet kid ☺️). My son thought it was his Grandmom’s recipe… when in fact… my Dad is the one who taught me how to make these. He rarely cooked however, enjoyed making good mashed potatoes. Very grateful!
What’s your favorite Thanksgiving dish? #gobbletilyouwobble #begrateful 🧡🍂🍗
A few simple ingredients: 1 to 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter – salt – ground pepper – 1 cup milk, room temperature – 8 russet potatoes, peeled cubed & boiled – 1/4 cup sour cream
Yum!

Sounds delicious!!! My favorite dish for Thanksgiving would have to be my Grandma’s gravy. She passed away years ago and I haven’t had any since then. I wish I knew how she made it.

Do you leave some of the skin in them or is that gross? Lol…

There isn’t potato skin… the specks are pepper or green chives for decoration.

I was wondering if you left some in. Some people do that.
I’m sorry if that was offensive.

I may have misread. My apologies! Yes, I know a few people do that {leave partial skin}.
